It’s been a pleasure to work within the retail financial services industry this past year. While new developments in technology, regulation and competition continue to weigh heavy on the sector, there’s a huge amount of positivity coming from our members who are stepping up and embracing change.
Change has also been made companywide at Efma too. In October, we were delighted to welcome Yolande Piazza, Citi Fintech’s CEO, as Efma’s first female chairperson. She’s already brought a great deal of positivity to our organization and we’re very excited about working with her in the months to come in order to promote growth and embrace transformation.
We’ve also made a number of changes to the way we operate, focusing on addressing the key topics that matter most to our members. The main change in 2018 will be to focus on better knowing our members so we can customize and personalize our relationships with them.
This issue of Efma Review also provides a roundup of the biggest issues and technologies that are impacting the sector at a global level.
In our regional overviews, you can discover how different innovations and approaches are being adopted in different parts of the world. And, on the pages that follow, you can get an in-depth overview of the latest research, case studies and thought leadership surrounding the most important topics facing financial services organizations today including innovation and AI, bank collaboration, payments and wallets, channels and customer experience, SME, affluent, insurance and women in finance.
