The content of the report is based on an online survey of banks across Europe, Middle East & Africa, as well as desk research and interviews with leading innovators.
In 2010, we found that banks were increasing their investment in innovation as the industry emerged from the financial crisis. Our recent discussions with banks show that the topic of innovation in retail banking continues to be a critical issue.
The report covers current trends in innovation investment and strategy, as well as innovation organisation and processes. Of particular interest is how banks prioritise their innovation investments given the wide range of areas in which they need to invest. There is also an assessment of innovation levels in banks across the different regions which enables us to see whether there is any innovation performance improvement taking place.
