Liberty Mutual has leveraged its data science, engineering, and insurance expertise to develop a suite of digital solutions to help homebuyers and homeowners make more informed decisions and live with greater peace of mind.

Total Home Score is a new analytics product that helps consumers understand ‘hidden’ livability factors before they move into a home, such as the prevalence of aggressive and potentially dangerous driving around a neighborhood, and the estimated noise levels surrounding a home. These are factors that aren’t easily uncovered using existing sources of information, such as open houses and home inspections. Total Home Score is powered by Solaria Labs’ Shine API, a set of data-driven services that extend Liberty Mutual’s expertise and assets into new markets.

Having identified the right place to live with Total Home Score, our new online Dwellbeing platform makes it simple and stress-free for homeowners to care for their homes. Dwellbeing sends personalized task-oriented notifications when common household systems and appliances need to be maintained, along with details on how to service them and the option to “Hire a Pro.”

These exciting new services combined with Liberty’s insurance offerings are aimed at providing more comprehensive protection to the consumer.

Total Home Score and Dwellbeing were developed by Solaria Labs, Liberty Mutual’s Innovation Center, which was founded in 2015 to help foster new ideas and create a more experimental culture.

The products were unveiled at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show, and have continued to garner a positive response from users, partners, and media.
