Julian is Global Head of Accenture Strategy for Banking and Capital Markets and a Senior Managing Director in Accenture’s Financial Services practice.
He is responsible for Accenture’s portfolio of strategy work in these industries with specialization in digital strategies, payments, asset management, technology strategy, corporate banking, strategic cost reduction and new business models.
During his 30 year career with Accenture he has lead the Banking practice for Europe, Latin America and Africa, lead the Business Consulting practice for Financial Services UK and the Strategy practice for Financial Services UK.
He also leads Accenture’s global fintech practice which helps incumbent FS players meet and work with fintech companies.
Julian has taken hands on roles leading large change programmes in banking, insurance and capital markets businesses with a common theme of disruptive technology adoption.
He has also set up and run a new business unit for a UK bank and been seconded to a UK insurance company in a director role for 1 year.
Julian has lived and worked in the UK, France, Sweden, Indonesia and Germany.
Julian also founded Accenture’s UK payments practice in 2007. Julian has published white papers on disruptive change in the payments and banking industry- the most recent of which is ‘Fintech – Did Someone Cancel the Revolution?’.
Julian sat on the Domestic Promotion Committee of City UK - the new entity created to restore faith in the banking industry (2014-2016). Julian also sat on the Corporate User Forum of the Payments Council from 2009-2013.
Julian also heads Accenture’s sponsorship programme for the British Triathlon Trust in the UK. He speaks French and passable Indonesian and German and has interests in tennis, history, economics, triathlon and Wimbledon AFC.
