Chris is currently the Global Head of Retail Products & Digital at Standard Chartered Bank. In this role he is responsible for the retail products and payments strategy for the SC Retail Bank across cards, lending and deposits/transaction accounts. He is also leading the agenda to overhaul SC Retail’s digital channels and processes. Previously Chris was the Global Head of Distribution, responsible for the development and performance of SCs sales and service channels - branches, contact centers, on-line, mobile, ATMs and direct sales. In his time in the role, he and his team drove the global transformation in SC’s sales models that resulted in a stepchange in sales performance and sales staff productivity. Before taking up the Group roles, Chris spend much of his career at SC in country leadership roles as Head Wealth Management & Private Bank Korea, Country Head Consumer Banking UAE and eventually Regional Head Consumer Banking for North East Asia. Chris joined the bank as Group Head Private Banking following the acquisition of 20Twenty (a FI he co-founded) by SC in 2003. In this role, he led the turnaround of SC Jersey and successfully spearheaded Standard Chartered’s reentry into Private Banking. The SC Private Bank continues to grow strongly with AUM of more than $60bn. Before setting up his own company Chris was an Associate Principle at McKinsey & Company in London. He holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town and a B.Sc.(Hons.) cum laude from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Outside of work Chris enjoys spending time with family, training obsessively for Triathlon and is active in the Bank’s Seeing-is-Believing charity. Together with his teams, he has raised more than $1.5m in donations to support the visually handicapped.
