Efma Accenture’s banking innovation of the month award for July goes to Intesa Sanpaolo for Welfare Hub, which empowers SME customers to offer to their employees a personalized and fully integrated set of welfare services.

Companies are increasingly focused on their employees’ wellbeing, considering it as a differentiating asset to attract and retain best talents, to increase productivity and to enhance the overall brand image. To help its SME customers achieve that, Intesa Sanpaolo launched Welfare Hub, a digital platform that provides companies with a complete and integrated series of welfare services and products, to be subscribed either individually and collectively.

Welfare Hub covers several social needs through a modular approach: from a daily banking and flexible benefits offering (covering main customers’ needs, related to family, education, health/ wellness and leisure), to pension schemes, protection services and learning paths.

The platform was designed to be user-friendly and multi-channel, yet able to collect welfare services and products in a single place. Users can simply access refunds and vouchers, while being engaged through editorial and interactive contents on the welfare sector and communities.

Since its launch in October 2017, Welfare Hub has been well received by the bank’s SME customers. What they value the most is the possibility to fully customize the platform according to their ‘welfare-readiness and the services they wish to provide to their employees. The platform is expected to increase the overall level of satisfaction for Intesa Sanpaolo’s SME customers, thanks to a value proposition that demonstrates the bank’s willingness to become a real partner and an ally in the enhancement of the company-employee relationship.

For Intesa Sanpaolo, Welfare Hub represents a new relationship paradigm with SME customers, enabling their social role and easing their efforts in understanding and responding to their employees’ needs.

Intesa Sanpaolo is working on the continuous improvement of the platform, and is cooperating with its SME customers to identify new providers to enrich the flexible benefits section. It is currently working to create a Welfare Observatory to spot best practices among SMEs and further develop its value proposition. The bank plans to rely on its CRM engine to ensure the relevance of its welfare offering.

Welfare Hub will be automatically selected as a nominee for the Efma-Accenture Distribution & Marketing Innovation Awards 2018. No more Innovation of the Month for this 6th edition.
