Efma feature

14 March 2018

The first in this year’s series of Efma councils – a unique networking service for Efma members – will take place in Athens, Greece on 22-23 March.

National Bank of Greece, one of the largest financial groups in Greece, is to welcome Efma council members to The Ethniki, Hellenic General Insurance Company S.A., head office in Athens for their first meeting of the year this March.

From 22-23 March, the bank will host six different council meetings: the Affluent and Private Banking Council, Operational Excellence Council, Physical Channels Council, Digital Channels Council, SME Council, and Insurance Council.

Each council brings together an exclusive group of senior executives from leading banks and insurance companies, allowing them to collaborate, network, discuss and exchange best practices with their peers in order to stay abreast of the latest ideas and developments in the industry.

Council members will also get to explore Athens and participate in an olive oil seminar the day before the event starts. This will provide an ideal opportunity for members to network and get to know one another in a less formal setting.

The councils are free to attend and available to Efma members only. Non-members are eligible to join the Insurance Council meeting, but must pay a fee to do so.

To date, Efma councils have gathered together more than 242 members from 39 countries. By being involved in an Efma council, members have access to a multitude of networking and knowledge sharing events, including the opportunity to attend three working sessions per year, as well as collaborative sessions, benchmarking workshops, study presentations and sessions dedicated to hot topics such as fintechs and start-ups.

To find out more about the upcoming events, or to register to become a council member, please contact Mailys Mertian (mailys@efma.com), Efma’s councils programme manager.
