Voting opens for the 2017 Efma-Accenture Innovation in Insurance Awards

Winners to be revealed at awards ceremony in London on 26 April.

Efma members and non-members have until 31 March 2017 to vote for the winner of the second Efma-Accenture Innovation in Insurance Awards.

The Efma-Accenture Innovation in Insurance programme is a joint initiative that aims to reward the most innovative distribution and marketing projects developed by insurance companies across five continents.

“We’re creating a place where insurance companies and banks’ insurance subsidiaries will be able to showcase their innovations and get to grips with the latest ideas, technologies and strategies adopted by their peers,” said Vincent Bastid, Efma CEO.

This year, Efma received 219 innovations from 142 institutions in 38 countries. An expert panel have selected nominees for awards in five different categories. Efma members and non-members can visit the awards website ( to choose from a shortlist of entries in the Customer Experience & Engagement, Intelligent Automation, and Connected Insurance & Ecosystem categories. Entries must be rated on a scale of one to ten according to three criteria: originality and game-changing potential; expected long-term impact and return on investment; and adaptability for different markets and countries.

The winners of each category will be revealed during the Innovation in Insurance Awards ceremony at the Efma Insurance Summit London (, which will take place in London, UK on 26 April 2017.

Nominees in the Best Disruptive Product or Service category will give a seven-minute presentation followed by a three-minute Q&A session at the Innovation in Insurance Awards ceremony. Event attendees will use an interactive voting system to choose their favourite innovation, which will count for 50% of the overall vote. The remaining 50% will be from online voters.

The Awards Committee, which comprises senior insurance executives from around the world, will also vote for the Global Innovator.
