Rakbank has launched an Islamic banking brand
United Arab Emirates | February 2013


National Bank of Ras Al-Khaimah, better known as Rakbank, has recently set up the Rakbank Amal brand for its Islamic banking products. The Rakbank Amal products, which are available in all the bank’s 33 branches, included bank accounts, loans, debit cards and Takaful insurance policies. Among these products, the Jood Account, a savings account, offers savers the chance to win up to 10 000 Dirhams (AED) a month.

BNP Paribas plans to phase out the Cortal Consors brand

France - April 2014



In France, the bank BNP Paribas intends to absorb Cortal Consors on 1st November 2014, according to the French financial daily Les Echos. Specialised in online savings and brokerage, Cortal Consors is due to disappear as a brand by the end of 2015. Cortal Consors has 150,000 customers, including 4,500 high net worth customers.

In India, IndusInd Bank has signed a five-year contract with the private transport company Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon, entitling IndusInd Bank to name and brand a metro station which will host a high-tech branch equipped with the latest ATMs.

Santander rebrand in the United States

USA - October 2013



Santander has recently rebranded its 718 Sovereign Bank branches in the United States, four years after having acquired this US bank, which ranks among the country’s 25 biggest banks. The 718 Santander branches are located in the north-east, in the States of New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. The rebranding is being accompanied by a 200 million dollar communication campaign. The slogan chosen by Santander is “A bank for your ideas”. Santander will also invest 100 million dollars over five years in the bank’s university partners in the United States.
