Overall issues
-
Cash dispensing
In this area, the ATM has become the most frequently used banking channel throughout the world. The use of cash is currently increasing once more. In the future, will even more people revert to using cash as credit cards become less easy to obtain? -
Cash deposits
ATMs have been far less successful at collecting cash. The next challenge is therefore to develop them into automated cash deposit devices. -
Complete automation
The current use of ATMs varies from country to country. Some Northern European nations use them purely as cash dispensers, whereas in others (such as Portugal and Turkey) they have much greater functionality. Ultimately, should the ATM evolve into a fully automated bank delivery channel or stay as a cash dispensing machine?
