Securing the entire payment value chain
Atos Worldline has always taken on a pioneering role in the protection of electronic payments. First of all it provides customers with the best-in-class security. But we also aim to make our many years of experience in keeping electronic transactions secure available to anyone involved and to alert them to the role that they play in ensuring the security of the payment value chain.
Securing the payment value chain through PCI compliance
Keeping card details secure is a worldwide focus both for the banks that issue payment cards and for the merchants who accept them. The international credit card organizations have developed a set of standards for protecting cardholder details, called PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). Every company involved in the payment chain is required to meet PCI DSS standards in order to protect customers.
Extensive tests by the assessment company USD confirmed to Atos Worldline (Business Unit Banking & Finance Central Europe) the security of the networks as well as of the IT infrastructure and applications for the transmission and storage of credit card data. The company thus meets the requirements of the common PCI-DSS security standard of international credit card organizations, which are exactly defined also for the Acquiring/Remote Payment sector.
Security standard ISO27001 certification
Atos Worldline has earned ISO27001 certification for its Banking & Finance Central Europe Business Unit, and computer centres, after an eighteen months process. Atos Worldline is one of the few German companies to be certified in accordance with the international security standard, which applies not only to computer centres but also to all of the company’s business units.
Payment Terminals future-proof technology
With its Banksys terminals products range, Atos Worldline operates at the heart of the electronic payments chain: the point-of-sale terminal and hardware security module.
POS terminal
Omnipresent in supermarkets, petrol stations and on shop counters, Banksys payment terminals provide high levels of convenience, security, reliability and speed to users across the globe. Cabled, wireless or contactless, Banksys products are always at the forefront of innovation.
- For every type of payment: countertop, mobile and unattended terminals
- Compliant with today’s international security standards, such as PCI PED and EMV
- Easy to manage thanks to the remote management system for terminals and applications
Hardware security module
The hardware security module, or HSM, lies at the centre of any secure data transaction system. It provides a tamper-responsive, secure environment for key storage and processing of sensitive material. Banksys HSM’s meet encryption and security requirements in traditional payment environments, as well as in e-commerce, m-commerce, access control or electronic document management systems; free up servers from time-consuming cryptographic functions; and can be managed, configured and monitored remotely thanks to a dedicated secure software programme
